By Gypsie
Djelibeybi is a teeming metropolis situated in the middle of hot and exotic Klatch. Make sure you dress appropriately for the weather here as there is a real danger of heat exhaustion for the unwary. If the disc famous Klatchian steel armour from the master armourer Ug Ogg's forge is not to your taste or budget then you might be able to pick up a local costume of thwab and guttrah from the lovely Lip-Balm's general store at a bargain price.
What is there to do in Djelibeybi?
Djelibeybi is the place to idle away a busy weekday afternoon and you're bound to run into familiar faces as you womble around particularly in the bazaar. You'll be surprised at what prizes can be picked up in the charming stalls and shops in and near the bazaar. Those wizards on the look out for hard to come by components for spells should take particular note.
The Player shop, The Vulgar Unicorn owned by the Djelian council is also a must visit location for the serious bargain hunter. Party-hardy with the other party-goers in Hat's temple, maybe you ll even run into legendary idler Kepresh while you're there. Away from the sun's piecing rays it is fashionable to replace the guttrah with a party hat here but the thwab is still an essential requirement in the searing heat.
And the night-life doesn't end there. Don't forget to pay a visit to the celebrated Fez club. Here you can sip on the aptly named Strip Tease while watching the dancing girls strut their stuff.
Pay a visit to Phin and Ut's mansion to get a real feel of how the Djelian upper class live and of course a trip to the palace is an absolute must. Complete with regal guards in their dashing uniforms. Be sure to visit the aging elephant in the palace stables while you are there.
The Djelian Council has an office situated here should you wish to lodge a complaint, start a family or even apply for citizenship should Djelibeybi charm you into not wanting to leave.
If education is more to your taste then a visit to the illustrious Djelian Institute of Illusory Learning is an absolute must. Rumour has it that one of the tomes in the institute's library even contains a spell that will let you turn you turn your enemies into frogs. Take a tour through the library if you dare but be warned, the library here has the same dangers as libraries anywhere.
Djelians are a tolerant people but, be warned, they take their various religion very seriously so you would be well advised to treat every priest you meet with the upmost respect. Also whatever you do never show any sort of negativity towards cats. Cats are worshipped here with an almost Death like obsession and the city is overrun with them. In fact it is impossible to take two steps without running into one. Pragiing Wizards should be especially wary. The crocodile pits await those who fail to head this warning. Djelian law however is not as tough on theft as many other places. Should you be caught stealing you can expect a mere banishment into the wilderness as the only penalty.
