As with written Djelian, names can be translated into spoken Djelian for amusement, though they're not as descriptive as written name translations. "Miss Elera", for example, would translate as "phin-thon lip-bibh".
Another use is in translating messages by creators or other NPCs:
(Priests) Skye wisps: khot-lip-khin bibh-phin-fin-ghot phin than-khin-lat-lip-yih than not lith-rhat-khin-pran nut-phin-lip.
This translates to "(Priests) Skye wisps: d-l-n r-m-nd-s m f-n-t-l-y f <vowel> sp-tt-n-g c-m-l."
By filling in the likely vowels, we get "(Priests) Skye wisps: Djelian reminds me faintly of a spitting camel."
These translations can be very useful in getting instructions from NPCs, even if you cannot respond to them, because many Djelians wish non-Djelians to do what they're told, and not answer back, to be sufficiently satisfied.
Another common use can be in interacting with NPCs that opt to speak Djelian but understand a response in any language. Fences, for example, used to operate in such a manner. Ug Ogg, maker of delightful armours, is also such an NPC. While some of his chats may be clear based on the options presented, others are not:
Ug Ogg asks you in Djelian with a Lancrastian accent: yih mit-khin-lat sap-lat khat-lat-khot, yih bibh khin-yih?
Ug Ogg asks you in Djelian with a Lancrastian accent: y w-n-t th-t tr-t-d, y r n-y?
Ug Ogg asks you in Djelian with a Lancrastian accent: You want that treated, aye or nay?
Ug Ogg says to you in Djelian with a Lancrastian accent: mit-calh-lat but-lip-lat-yih phin-lat-bibh-lip yih mit-khin-lat? not nut-khin ghot khin-than-bibh-bibh, lip-mit, phin-khot-phin, calh-nhad, bibh sikh-phin-phin phin-lat-bibh-lip-ghot.
