Greetings, beloved readers. This month brings many changes for The Papyrus. Not only has Fewms joined the team as an Editor, you are probably reading The Papyrus on the web for the first time, and you are also reading The Papyrus for the first time as a newspaper completely independent of Djelian Council control.
Fewms has been a splendid journalist with The Papyrus for some time, bringing new heights (and depths) of humour to our content, as well as great imagination and general writing skills.
After some discussion regarding our perennial problems (difficulty in breaking even due to printing costs), this month we are moving to the web. This will reduce our costs to wages for reporters, which we hope to pay from donations made by our appreciative readers. Unlike the Ankh-Morpork Daily or The Green Slab we'll no longer require you to act on faith that the paper you purchase has good content. Read our articles first, then decide how much you think we're worth. Premium copies will still be available on the mud, upon request. A small number of premium copies may also continue to be stocked in the Vulgar Unicorn (4w, n from DJB crossroads), or PunCo (3e, n from Drum).
We have also decided to longer be subject to council supervision. This means that our news can now be free of bias and propaganda. We will not continue our Djelian view of events in all of our articles, but it will be a Djelian view free of the Council.
So have a read of The Papyrus, and tell your friends about it if you like it!
