The Disfigured Index Finger
(Start Date January 1 - March 22)
The dice have chosen Skewering as the method of divination for The Disfigured Index Finger this month.
As we all know, Skewering is an ancient practice involving poking around a person's guts with a very sharp stick then looking at the pieces that end up on it. Jab, jab, jab, and we get a dribbly, pinkish bit, a bit of some brown, jiggly thing with uneven edges and ooh, a paper note? It reads: "If you read this, you are a moron. Eat note for maximum effect." Perhaps your mind will choose the naiveness way this time. Be aware of yourself. The dribbly pink bit probably tells of untold diseases, very lethal, but with a fairly simple cure. The brown jiggly bit speaks about a failed poisoning attempt, but it is not clear who - you or someone else. Assassins under the Finger should prefer bladed weapons for the coming month instead of poisons.
The Dust Bunny
(Start Date March 23)
The dice have chosen Garlic Pleasures as the method of divination for The Dust Bunny this month.
Widely known to all cultures, Garlic Pleasures is a technique that needs plenty of practice to work. Well, I've had practice for my whole life. So let's get to it. Kindly enough, the Garlic St. garlic shop has provided me with ample raw materials with what to practise my ways. Ah, there dozes a priest in a window. Clamber clamber up the wall, shove his mouth full of garlic, punch on the chin and TAPPATAPPATAPPA down the stairs, running for my dear life, then watching carefully as the aforementioned priest bows out from the street and blesses a lucky citizen with a stream of heaven juice. This has a certain aroma of failure, but can be interpreted as a recovering from a big crisis. Take heed and eat an apple.
The Eyeplug
(Start Date March 24 - April 1)
The dice have chosen Coin Flipping as the method of divination for The Eyeplug this month.
Ah, the ages-old art of Coin Flipping. This is a fairly simple, yet very clearly understood method. We shall ask the coin three questions, then flip it. It will probably hang on it's edge but the charm lies in making it roll around in circles then looking at the trail it leaves into the sand. Pweong! and the coin goes flying into the air, then lands with a ZING. It lifts eerily off the ground, draws a perfect square, then flips over and lands in the sand. Tails. Clearly you are going to face troubles in your relationships during the coming month, but fear not, for your career will bloom. Perhaps it's not too late to restore the waning warmth?
The Mumps-Ridden Mummy
(Start Date April 2 - November 24)
The dice have chosen Desert Winds as the method of divination for The Desert Winds this month.
As I trot along to the vast Djelian desert, a sand storm picks up. I dive for cover but get bombarded with sands. This means a physically damaging accident. Pushed by the wind, I roll over a dune and land in a heap. Trying desperately to reach the safety of the city walls, I'm thrown in all directions by the ever-changing wind. Times of change loom in the future. I'll take a low profile now and see what it yields. I manage to crawl a fair way to the city, where I'm picked up by a gust of wind and slammed against the city wall. An epic adventure awaits for you. A bed awaits for me.
The Glamorous Lump
(Start Date November 26 - December 31)
The dice have chosen Spice Burning as the method of divination for The Glamorous Lump this month.
The Spice Burning is a relatively new thing and quickly becoming a major fad in the world of divining. It can be done in a variety of forms, the more common being mixing spices, throwing them on hot coals and watching the smoke, the other one is inhaling the smoke and analysing the smell. I was brought a lovely batch of cardamom and ginger the other day, I'll try my luck with these. Let's do the patterns for the friendships. Throwing a handful of the spices over the coal pan yields a column of thick, spiraling smoke. This represents three friends, two fighting for the third. Taking a deep breath of the smoke-filled air yields a stinging sensation in my throat, then a ticklish feeling in my chest. This is probably good financial fortune, but can also mean a procedure inducing mild discomfort.
