In the previous edition, the problems of voting alts were discussed. Not the problems they experience, but the problems they might and do cause. Since then, there have been many interesting developments in the political arenas of the Court and the boards.
In cases 1322-1325, Magistrate Robgea opened cases against Inode, Exode, Inece, and Exece. The cause of action was that they were voting alts. The four cases were closed 10 hours later by Magistrate Distran, with a punishment of removal of citizenship. Exece appealed the case against himself (1325) with the assistance of Magistrate Fewms, and defended himself with a great deal of passion and capitalisation.
Exece proclaimed that he was not a voting alt, but a wizard club alt, dedicated to keeping a player club for Djelian orders active. He then turned to personal attacks against the Editor in Chief when she noted that she had observered both Exece and Exiy enter the voting room during the most recent batch of motions.
Exece then opened case 1329 agaist the Editor in Chief under law 310, which prohibits giving false testimony to the court. The crux of his argument was that the Editor in Chief had lied by referring to him as a voting alt during the appeal of case 1325. Because Exece failed to prove the accusations false in the week provided, by being on at the same time as another of the voting alts, Magistrate Robgea dismissed the case, in the process awarding the Editor in Chief with the much coveted title of "Cat Defender" for 10 hours.
Exiy also opened case 1330 against the Editor in Chief shortly after Exece opened his case, on the grounds of defamation under rule 301, which allows Djelian citizens to bring cases to resolve grievances. In that case the complaints were that his reputation suffered from being called a voting alt, and that the Editor in Chief was unreasonably creepy by hiding outside the voting booth while voting alts were in the neighborhood. Magistrate Robgea merged the case with case 1329, on the basis that the cases were covering the same ground. Exiy then opened case 1331 on the same grounds of 1330, pointing out that he was bringing the case under 301, not 310, and the cases should not be merged.
The Editor in Chief then responded by opening case 1332 against Exiy and Exece, for presenting false evidence in a court case by accusing her of lying. Her argument was that they knew full well that the accusations they made were false.
Magistrate Fewms, finding that Exece was the only surviving member of the initial voting ring, ruled in case 1325 that he could provisionally keep his citizenship. However, in a move worthy of Solomon, Fewms punished Exece with thirty hours of the title "Vagrant" for his "inconsistant devotion to the Kingdom." In the event that Exece still possesses that title at the next election by virtue of being active less than 30 hours in the intervening months, it will be taken as evidence of inactivity and further punishment may be warranted.
Finally, case 1334 has been opened against Iniy and Exiy, two voting alts that are part of the Exece Group. Magistrate Robgea opened the case, and pointed out that they should be removed with haste, less their continuing citizenship contradict the assertion by Magistrate Fewms that Exece may provisionally retain his citizenship as the only remaining citizen of the cabal.
